A Covid-Positive Resident of Tanjunguban Dies

Bintan - Cases of positive Covid-19 patients dying in Bintan are increasing. A male patient, a resident of Jl Mekar Sari, North Tanjunguban, North Bintan was reported dead.

The Head of the Bintan Health Service (Dinkes), Dr. Gama AF Isnaeni, said that the total number of positive Covid-19 patients who died in Bintan has reached 11 people. The last is case number 459, aged 40 years old.

"The 459th case male patient died four days ago or on January 20th, 2021," said Gama on Sunday (24/1/2021).

This patient with initials BP has a history of travel to Batam. After returning, he became ill with several symptoms such as cough, sore throat, headache, shortness of breath, weakness, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Then he was referred to Raja Ahmad Tabib Hospital (RAT) in Riau Islands, Tanjungpinang and the medical team had conducted a Molecular Rapid Test (TCM). The result was positive for Covid-19. Then he began to undergo isolation on Tuesday (12/1/2021).

However, after only eight days of isolation at the hospital, his condition got worse and he was pronounced dead.

"Several days later, someone else also died. Namely a patient from Kilometer 23 Kijang Kota. However, when he died, his status was negative for Covid-19 at that time," he explained.

The cumulation of positive cases of Covid-19 in Bintan was recorded with 500 cases. A total of 450 cases were declared cured and 11 people have died.

Currently, there are 39 active cases recorded who are still undergoing isolation both independently and in hospital.
