Natuna - The combined Search and Rescue (SAR) team of Natuna-Anambas consisting of the Indonesian Army/Police, the Transportation Department and local fishermen, for three days continued to search for the presence of wooden ships carrying 10 cows lost contact in Midai waters, Natuna, Riau Islands, since the last three days, precisely Thursday (07/09/2020).

The wooden boat which is known as pompong with a capacity of 6 GT called Sumber Cahaya carried 4 crew members, 1 passenger, and 10 cows have not yet been found.

Team Commander (Dantim) SAR from the Natuna Regency Search and Rescue Office (KPP), Budiman explained, chronologically the incident began when the ship departed from Midai Port to Anambas Islands District (KKA) on July 8, 2020, at around 20.00 West Indonesia Time, carrying 10 tails cow.

However, the wooden ship has not arrived at KAA Port, as the estimated target time was 14 hours of estimated travel distance.

"We received the report on July 10, 2020, thus we immediately determined the coordinates of the results of the data that we collected from the community and fishermen so that on the same day we began to carry out the search operation," said Budiman to Batamnews, Sunday (12/7) 2020).

He said the combined SAR team had not yet managed to find the Sumber Cahaya ship which had lost contact. The search operation will continue today on Monday (07/13/2020) around the coordinates of 03 ° 07'38''N-106 ° 52'53 "E Natuna-Anambas sea waters.

"In the search and rescue operation, we are also assisted by fishermen from Midai by using 4 pompong," he concluded.
