Batam, Batamnews - The plan for the presence of K-POP Boyband from South Korea, Bangtan Boys or better known as BTS to Batam, Riau Islands has been hotly discussed by the public in recent days.

BTS was planned to be present as part of the collaboration in managing Batam's Hang Nadim Airport with the Angkasa Pura I - Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) - Wijaya Karya consortium which was signed in July 2021.

Recently, the Mayor of Batam as well as the Head of BP Batam Muhammad Rudi confirmed that BTS will be present in this Industrial City in January 2022.

He stated that the arrival of BTS coincided with the Ginseng State officials, especially the Minister of SOEs of South Korea.

"We've talked about it, the plan is that idols from South Korea will also come, their names are BTS. Of course, we'll get the National Police Chief's permission first, there's no problem with the cost, just the entry procedure," said Rudi in front of hundreds of guests who attended the Batam Batik Fashion Week event. (BBFW), Sunday (29/11/2021) night.

While further developments, Deputy II of BP Batam, Enoh Suharto Pranoto, said that the plan to bring in this boyband was in the context of signing a collaboration between BP Batam and the consortium Angkasa Pura I (Persero) - Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk.

Enoh said that the arrival of the BTS Boyband to Batam would of course take quite a long time and process due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The reason was that at the end of 2021, Indonesia was planning to implement PPKM Level 3 ahead of the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) Holidays.

"According to the discussion, the possibility will only be in early 2022," said Enoh.

Initially, the signing of the cooperation with the consortium was planned for mid-December 2021. However, it was postponed to early January 2022.

This consortium will later work on the renovation and development of Batam's Hang Nadim International Airport.
