Karimun, Batamnews - The elderly in Karimun Regency, Riau Islands have not received the Covid-19 vaccination. Conversely. the elderly in other areas have received this vaccine.

Head of the Karimun Health Service, Rachmadi, said that his party is currently experiencing a shortage of vaccine stocks.

"Vaccines for the elderly are the first stage of vaccination for the general public. We are still waiting for the supply of vaccines," said Rachmadi, Tuesday (27/4/2021).

He said the vaccine plan would be given to Karimun to residents during this fasting month. However, this was nevertheless done due to a lack of stock.

The vaccine ratio for Karimun is also uncertain. According to Rachmadi, from the initial estimate 200 to 300 doses of vaccine will be sent.

"But to this day we have not entered either," he said.

The distribution of these vaccines is no longer through the Riau Islands Provincial Government, but through direct distributors who have been appointed.

"For distribution directly through appointed distributors, the information we got was Kimia Farma," said Rachmadi.

Not having been vaccinated for the elderly Karimun is indeed quite worried along with the spike in Covid-19 cases that have occurred.

Rachmadi said that currently there are 32 isolated patients.
