Batam, Batamnews - Batam Industrial Development Authority (BP Batam), led by Muhammad Rudi, is committed to developing Batam into a modern city. One of the priority projects slated for 2024 is the construction of a flyover and road improvements along the Pura Agung - UIB route up to the Simpang Laluan Madani intersection.

The project aims to address traffic congestion in the area by building wider and more efficient roads. The previously single-lane, two-way road will be upgraded to a two-lane, four-way road, with two lanes on the right and two lanes on the left. The flyover will be built over the road from Laluan Madani to UIB, facilitating vehicle mobility.

During the flyover construction process, the nearly 50-year-old Sei Ladi Bridge will be restricted to light four-wheeled vehicles only. Meanwhile, heavy vehicles and equipment will be directed to use the flyover. This measure is intended to ensure the safety and longevity of the aging Sei Ladi Bridge.

The construction of this flyover is expected to improve accessibility and connectivity between strategic locations in Batam, such as Hang Nadim Airport. As one of the main transportation hubs in the Riau Islands region, smooth and efficient access is crucial for the growth of tourism and the economy of Batam.

In addition, the flyover construction is expected to encourage the development of industrial and commercial areas in Batam. As a special economic zone, Batam has enormous potential to become a strategic industrial and trade center in the Riau Islands region. With adequate and efficient road infrastructure, it is expected to attract more investment to the area.

Incoming investments will create new job opportunities and improve the standard of living for local residents. BP Batam Chief, Muhammad Rudi, requests support from the community to ensure the flyover and road improvement project proceeds as planned. It is hoped that this infrastructure development will have a positive impact on the economy of Batam in the future.
