As The Level of PPKM Batam in Batam Down to Level I, Government to Ease Certain Rules

Batam, Batamnews - The status of the implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) in Batam, Riau Islands (Kepri) has entered level I, based on the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) number 54 of 2021.

As a follow-up, the Mayor of Batam, Muhammad Rudi issued a Circular for the implementation of the PPKM level I. Circular issued number 61 of 2021. This circular is valid from 19 October to 8 November.

The reduction in the level has not been fully eased, such as for children under 12 years who are still not allowed to enter the cinema area. Then restaurants and cafes located in the cinema area can serve buyers to eat and drink, but with a capacity of 50 percent.

Previously, at PPKM level II, there were no eating and drinking activities in the cinema area. In addition, entering the cinema area is required to use the PeduliLindung application to screen or implement health protocols for all visitors and employees.

Cinema capacity can only be filled 70 percent of the total capacity. Plus when entering the cinema area it is forbidden to eat/drink or sell food and drinks.

Shopping centers/malls can operate until 21.00 WIB, and capacity is only limited to 75 percent.

Meanwhile, the implementation of activities in essential sectors such as health, banking, food, and beverage including shopping centers/malls can still operate 100 percent with more stringent regulation of operating hours, capacity, and implementation of health protocols. The Industrial Sector can also operate 100 percent with the implementation of strict procedures.

Traditional markets, street vendors, grocery stores, voucher agents/outlets, barbershops for barbershops, laundry, hawkers, flea markets, bird/poultry markets, wet markets, batik markets, small workshops, vehicle washes, and others of the like are permitted open with strict health protocols, wear masks, wash hands and hand sanitizers.

Then in small-scale restaurants and cafes that are in their location, they can serve dine-in and are limited to operating hours until 21.00 WIB with strict procedures.

The implementation of worship activities can be carried out in places of worship for a maximum of 75 percent. Then arts/cultural activities, social activities, wedding receptions, public area activities, meetings, and seminars can be carried out with a capacity of 50 percent.
