Tanjungpinang - During the health protocol raid in Tanjungpinang, officers recorded nearly 1,000 violators. The majority did not wear masks.

Those who violated the health protocol will be given social work sanctions and a fine of Rp. 50,000. The sanctions are given in accordance with the Regional Regulation (Perda) of the Tanjungpinang Government.

Head of the Tanjungpinang Police, Prayoga Dwi Putra, said that until now, the amount of money for sanctions for not wearing masks in Tanjungpinang has collected around more than Rp. 40 million.

"There are more than 1,000 violators found if the money collected is around Rp. 40 million, and the rest they carry out social work," he said.

The sanctioned money for not wearing masks was deposited into the local treasury of the Tanjungpinang Government. He assessed that the awareness of the Tanjungpinang community not to comply with health protocols is still high.

"There are more than 1,000 mask offenders, if it is still high we will continue to carry out raids," he explained.

Prayoga explained that the enforcement of the health protocol sanctions aims to break the chain of spreading Covid-19 in Tanjungpinang.

"We urge all Tanjungpinang people to continue implementing health protocols, one of which is the use of masks if you don't want to be subject to sanctions," he said.
