Tanjungpinang - Patients confirmed positive for Covid-19 in Tanjungpinang can still use their voting rights to vote in the election for the Governor and Deputy Governor of the Riau Islands (Kepri), Wednesday (9/12/2020).

For Covid-19 patients or sick people who have been included in the final election list (DPT) will be given an A5 letter.

"Under the General Election Commissions (KPU) Regulation of 2018 article 83 (1), it says that voters who are sick and in the hospital still have the right to vote, using the KPU issuing letter A5," said the Commissioner for Data at the General Election Commission (KPU) Tanjungpinang, Muhammad Hafidz Diwa Prayoga, yesterday.

Meanwhile, he said, Covid-19 patients or sick people can vote when the family reports to election organizers.

He said, currently based on the data, at least 81 Tanjungpinang residents were exposed to Corona and were in isolation in several local hospitals.

"We will look for these 81 people, whether they have been registered as DPT or not," said Hafidz.

He continued, 7 out of 81 Covid-19 patients were in the Navy Hospital (RSAL), and 61 people at the Regional General Hospital (RSUD).

"In the Dormitory of the Education Quality Assurance Institute (LPMP) there are 3 people and the Raja Ahmad Tabih Regional Hospital there are 10 people," he said.

Later, after the voting station (TPS) is set for Corona patients, members of the Voting Organizing Group (KPPS) will come to the hospital wearing protective equipment.

"The location refers to the nearest polling station from the hospital. However, patients at LPMP will hand it over to Bintan, so we coordinate with the Bintan KPU regarding the patient isolated in Bintan," concluded Hafidz.
