Batam - Of the 12,517 Group Election Officers Groups (KPPS), 559 people were reactive during the rapid test ahead of the regional election (Pilkada).

This was responded seriously by the Acting Mayor of Batam, Syamsul Bahrum. In addition to preparing backup members, Syamsul also asked those who were reactive to carry out a second rapid test.

If the result is still the same, it will proceed to the swab test. "Before the results come out, they will first quarantine and find a replacement," said Syamsul, Thursday (6/12/2020).

According to Syamsul, there are still 6 days left before the election on December 9, 2020. So that the General Election Commission (KPU) can conduct socialization to these officers.

"Socialization is intense as long as it can be done. We are optimistic that the Pilkada will not be postponed. Because, we have fulfilled all the expected needs, "he explained.

This belief was strengthened because KPU officers and the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) already had backup officers to anticipate this. He hopes that no new case findings or clusters will occur after the Pilkada.

Batam Covid-19 Task Force Health Division Chair Didi Kusmarjadi added that the 2020 Pilkada election officials who were reactive did not need to be examined again.

This refers to the Decree of the Minister of Health (KMK) regarding guidelines for preventing Covid-19 control.

"According to the provisions of KMK, there is no need to do it. If it is to be done, also look at the availability of logistics first," said Didi.
