Hundreds of Police Guard Workers Strike Action in Batam

Batam - Barelang Police deployed hundreds of personnel to secure demonstrations and strikes, labor unions regarding the rejection of the Job Creation Law or Omnibus Law, Tuesday (6/10/2020).

Kapolresta Barelang AKBP Yos Guntur Yudi said that his party divided the six points of mass gathering which were the priority for security.

Among them were the Batamindo Industrial Estate, led by the Head of the Sei Beduk Police, AKP Awal Sya'ban Harahap, the Panbil Industrial Area led by the Galang Police Chief AKP Herman Kelly, the Batam Industrial Zone led by the Batam Police Chief, Restia Octane Guchy.

Meanwhile, the Batu Ampar Industrial Area was led by the Batu Ampar Police Chief Nendra Madya Tias, the Kabil Industrial Area was led by the Nongsa Police Chief I Made Putra Hari Suargana and the Batu Aji Industrial Area was led by the Batu Aji Police Head Jun Chaidir.
 
Yos explained, for this time the Barelang Police had 275 personnel, plus 1 SST of Dit Sampta Polda Kepri or 31 personnel.

"The conditions on the ground were very conducive because during the activity there were no anarchic acts committed by the protesters," said Yos.

He advised workers to adhere to health protocol rules.

"Stay healthy and don't forget to wash your hands, wear a mask and keep your distance and avoid crowds," he said.
