SAR Team Saves Dozens of Wooden Ship Passengers in the Natuna Sea

Natuna - The SAR team evacuated 37 passengers and four crew members from a wooden ship KM Fisabilillah 1, Monday (31/8/2020). The engine of the ship was broken and was adrift in the sea, 12 miles from the Selat Lampa Harbor, Natuna.

This ship sails from Midai Island to Lampa Strait Harbor. Around 12.00 WIB, the engine was broken.

Head of the Natuna Search and Relief Office (Basarnas), Maxianus Bekabel, said that his party received the report at around 14:20 WIB.

The joint SAR team immediately headed to the location to rescue the passengers

"In the search process we deployed personnel who were divided into two teams," he said.

The position of KM Fisabilillah was tracked at 18.15 WIB and the ship was successfully towed. The ship docked safely at Lampa Strait Harbor.

"KM Fisabilillah was pulled by a fishing boat, accompanied by Speed ​​belonging to the Natuna Police and other fishing boats with all the passengers safe," said Mexi.
