Karimun - Health services at the Tanjungbatu Community Health Center in Kundur District, Karimun Regency have been temporarily closed.

This was after an officer in the public health center's public service division tested positive for Covid-19. Health services have been temporarily transferred to the North Kundur Community Health Center.

The head of the Tanjungbatu Health Center, Azman, said that the employee who was confirmed positive had been working in the public service registration section.

"So our service will be temporarily closed. It is not certain about the duration. Meanwhile, we will first transfer it to the North Kundur Puskesmas," he said, Friday (14/8/2020).

The officer is reportedly on the tracing contact list regarding some cases that have occurred previously.

Kundur Island in Karimun Regency, Riau Islands (Kepri) had previously been designated as the Covid-19 red zone. This determination follows the addition of positive cases of Covid-19 due to local transmission.

Karimun Regent Aunur Rafiq announced the designation of the Kundur Island red zone, last Wednesday (13/8/2020).

"I convey to the public that Kundur Island is in the red zone for the spread of Covid-19," said Rafiq, as quoted by Antara.

Even so, Rafiq admits that he has not taken a policy to close access to the entrance and exit doors on Kundur Island.

This is because he argued that he was still considering the economic conditions of the community.

Rafiq said that his party would first look at the results of the investigation and development of the Covid-19 distribution from the existing clusters.

Head of the Karimun Health Service, Rachmadi, stated that there were six more positive Covid-19 patients in the area.

Some time ago the Kundur Police Chief, Commissioner Endi Endarto died after being confirmed by Covid-19.
