Batam - A health worker at a public health center in Batam was confirmed with Covid. The 41-year-old NM was suspected to have been infected from patients 08 who had been treated when she went to the Community Health Center.

On March 24, he had time to deal with a PNS (Civil servants) patient who complained of fever and shortness of breath. The patient he treated shortly after being treated as a PDP was later confirmed positive for Covid-19 as case 08. This is a cluster of the Women's Empowerment Service.

NM who had close contact with case 08 took part in undergoing a rapid test. Twice he underwent rapid tests on April 9 and April 17 showed non-reactive results. But the Task Force team also took a swab sample against NM on 30 April. The results were confirmed positive today, Monday (05/04/2020). NM was recorded as case 33 in Batam.

Patient 08 (female, 57 years old) is now declared negative after undergoing treatment at Embung Fatimah Regional Hospital. Several of these 08 patients' colleagues were co-tested positive for Covid-19, including a child and her husband.

From the statement of the Covid-19 Task Force team, NM's condition has so far been quite stable and has never felt any significant health problems.

"Currently, the process is preparing to carry out isolation treatment for further handling of health at the Embung Fatimah Regional Hospital, Batam," said Chairman of the Batam Covid-19 Task Force, HM Rudi in a written statement.

He stressed that at this time the surveillance team continued to carry out the contact tracing process for all people suspected of having contact with the case.
