Batam, Batamnews - The central government will implement the implementation of community activity restrictions (PPKM) level 3 during the period from December 24 to January 2, 2022.

This policy applies to all regions of Indonesia to anticipate an increase in cases during the 2021 Christmas and 2022 New Year holiday periods.

Regarding this, the Mayor of Batam, Muhammad Rudi said that he did not know the detailed rules for PPKM level 3 at Christmas and the upcoming New Year.

"As for the rules, I don't know yet," said Rudi.

However, he ensured that his party would follow instructions from the center to help suppress the spread of Covid-19. Meanwhile, from his understanding, PPKM level 3 will be implemented as before, and community activities will be limited.

"Maybe like yesterday, limited," he said.

Previously PPKM level 3 limited community activities with large numbers, for example in cafes or restaurants, they could only be filled with 50 percent capacity. Then the operation of a place of business or a place to eat will also be limited.

"For more details, I will wait for a letter from the center. Because we have experienced PPKM level 3 before, so I don't think there is a problem, because the goal is good and right," he explained.

Then regarding Singapore, which has opened its entrance for tourists, Rudi admitted that he has started to anticipate so that the spread of Covid-19 is no longer massive. Every international port is again placed with Polymare Chain Reaction (PCR) tools.

"It's best if the PCR test results can come out within 3 hours, this is being worked on," he said.

The opening of the entrance from Singapore will be opened on 29 November. Based on the new information, there is no quarantine imposed for Indonesian citizens who will enter Singapore.
