Batam - Batam Government continues to strive to generate tourism in Batam, Riau Islands. This was planned to restore the economy of the region.

"We are facing Covid-19 for almost 1 year and nine months. Now is the time for us to revive all sectors, including tourism, to restore Batam tourism," said Mayor Rudi when opening the 2021 Batam Automotive Adventure Challenge in Dataran Engku Putri, Friday (10/29/2021).

He appreciates several events that have started running. He encouraged events held in Batam to be of national to international level.

"Hopefully this activity can promote Batam to other areas," he said.

In addition to generating tourism, Rudi also said that his party continues to boost investment. He emphasized that one of the major investments that had just entered Batam was from Abu Dhabi, which invested IDR 7 trillion in the Sekupang Health SEZ.

"There will be an international medical university there," he said.

Amid efforts to restore tourism and the economy in Batam. He requested that all parties continue to implement strict health protocols to anticipate the wave of Covid-19 in the future.

"Don't assume that Covid-19 is over. Let's work together to implement health protocols to break the chain of the spread of Covid-19," Rudi ordered.
