Batam, Batamnews - Tourism business actors are again given the Covid-19 vaccine injections at Hj Bunda Halimah Hospital, Batam Center, Monday (22/3/2021).

Executive Director of the Regional Tourism Promotion Board (BPPD) of Batam, Eddy Sutrisno, said that in this second batch of 100 tourism actors had been vaccinated.

"In the first wave last March, as many as 20 tourism actors were vaccinated against Covid-19, consisting of heads of tourism associations and associations who are domiciled in Batam," said Edy.

He said this vaccination was a program from the Batam Government through the Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudpar).

"Today we are continuing with Covid-19 vaccination for tourism actors, thank God today as many as 100 people were vaccinated," he said.

According to him, vaccines are one way to strengthen or restore tourism in Batam in particular and Riau Islands in general.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) has a breakthrough, namely the Safe Travel Corridor Arrangement (STCA) in the two zones which are planned to open on April 21st, 2021, in Batam and Bintan with the concept of a travel bubble.

"Previously in the Nongsa area itself, 1,500 tourism actors had been vaccinated against Covid-19 witnessed by the Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno to prepare a Travel Bubble. This is a breath of fresh air for Batam and Bintan Kepri," he explained.

The Covid-19 vaccine for Batam Tourism actors will continue to gain trust and show that Batam is ready to accept domestic and foreign tourists.
