549,792 Batam Residents Have Been Vaccinated with Covid-19

Batam, Batamnews - Covid-19 vaccination in Batam, Riau Islands has reached 60.60 percent of the target or as many as 549,792 people as of Tuesday (3/8/2021).

This number is the recipient of the first dose of the Corona vaccine. The total vaccine targets reached 907,317 people.

Meanwhile, in the second dose, the number of Batam residents who had been vaccinated still reached 118,061 people or 13.01 percent.

The Mayor of Batam, Muhammad Rudi, said Batam would continue to hold vaccinations until all residents who entered the target could be injected with the vaccine.

"Batam targets 907,317 residents to be vaccinated," he said, Wednesday (4/8/2021).

He detailed the achievements, namely 513,776 residents aged 18 years and over and 36,016 residents who were still students or 12-17 years old.

Covid-19 vaccination will continue to be pursued for Batam residents. His party is increasingly coordinating with the Riau Islands Provincial Government regarding the supply of vaccines to Batam.

"Of the total 73,204 vaccine vials in Batam, 67,734 vials have been used, and the remaining stock (until August 3, 2021) is 5,467 vials," said Rudi.

He asked the public not to worry or be afraid of not getting free vaccines. He guarantees, if the stock of vaccines is available, vaccinations will continue to be carried out.

In addition, Rudi did not forget to remind residents who have been vaccinated not to ignore the 5M health protocol; wear masks, maintain distance, wash hands, avoid crowds, and reduce mobility.
