Batam, Batamnews - The last few weeks there has been an increase in demand for oxygen gas in Batam. This is allegedly related to the increasing number of Covid-19 patients in hospitals.
The supplier of oxygen gas cylinders for the PT Samator Gas Industri hospital said their party had increased the production process.
"The demand has doubled, while production has increased by 20 percent," said General Manager (GM) of PT Samator Gas Industri Indonesia Batam, Trisakti Saktiono Wibowo via text message to Batamnews, Monday (5/7/2021).
He said the increase in demand and production was from 1000 m3/hour to 1200 m3/hour.
Trisakti said that the increase in oxygen consumption had occurred several months ago. "But now it is even more increasing," he said.
The increase in oxygen demand, he said, was in line with the hospital's demand for oxygen.
But he said his party was still able to serve the increasing demand.
"Until now, all medical oxygen needs in Batam have been served," he said.
It ensures that the oxygen demand in Batam is safe.
The head of the Batam Health Office (Dinkes), Didi Kusmarjadi also ensured that the oxygen stock was safe so far.
"It's safe because there are many oxygen factories in Batam," said Didi.
