High Schools in Riau Islands Will Carry Out Face-to-Face Learning During a New School Year

Tanjungpinang, Batamnews - Limited face-to-face learning in Riau Islands Province schools in the new academic year will start in July 2021.

The Riau Islands Provincial Education Office will issue this limited face-to-face learning guide to schools, especially high school and the equivalent levels.

The Head of the Riau Islands Provincial Education Office, Mochammad Dali, said that the new academic year 2021-2022 will start on July 1, 2021.

"We allow face-to-face learning, but remember with a limited system and of course by prioritizing health protocols," Dali said by telephone, Tuesday (1/6/2021).

Dali added that the implementation was still based on the Joint Decree (SKB) of the four ministers, regarding Guidelines for the Implementation of Learning in the 2019 Coronavirus Disease Pandemic Period.

"The face-to-face learning is limited to a strict process. And parents have the right to choose their children to study online or face-to-face," he said.

The Riau Islands Province itself added this limited face-to-face learning was carried out in 2020. So that this new teaching, the school is ready for face-to-face learning with this limited system.

"As for special schools (SLB), we continue to learn from home using an online system," he said.

Dali also explained that for face-to-face learning, he would make Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that must be carried out by the school.

One of them is in the form of a limited face-to-face learning guide by emphasizing the implementation of procedures and student attendance schedules carried out in shifts or alternately

"Each school must also prepare a place to wash hands, use masks, prepare hand sanitizers, thermoguns, students' desks are spaced apart, study hours are reduced, canteens are not allowed to open and maintain the cleanliness of the school's sanitation system," he said.
