Jokowi Cancels His Visitation to Review Batam-Bintan Bridge Project

Tanjungpinang, Batamnews - President Joko Widodo continued his series of work visit agendas to the Riau Islands Province on Wednesday (19/5/2021). Previously the president visited Riau Province on the same day.

Together with a limited entourage, the presidential entourage departed from the Roesmin Noerjadin Air Force Base, Riau Province, to Raja Haji Fisabilillah International Airport, Riau Islands Province.

The President traveled to Bintan Inti Industrial Estate (BIIE), Bintan Regency. In the industrial area, the President reviewed the implementation of mass vaccinations for workers and communities around the area.

In addition to reviewing mass vaccinations, the president will also brief Forkopimda throughout the Riau Islands Province regarding the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The briefing will take place at the Riau Islands Provincial Building, Tanjungpinang City.

From the series of activities released by the Presidential Secretariat, there was no visible agenda to survey the landing point location for the Babin Bridge construction. Moreover, the group did not mention the name of the PUPR Minister, Basuki Hadimuljono.

During his working visit, Jokowi brought several officials including Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
