After Reviewing Babin Bridge Project, Moeldoko: Will Finish The Project in 2024!

Batam, Batamnews - The Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) of the Republic of Indonesia, General (Purn) Moeldoko, reviewed the construction of the Batam-Bintan Bridge in the Nongsa area, Batam, Riau Islands (Kepri), Friday (28/5/2021).

"The chief of staff must oversee strategic national projects, whether there are problems that become obstacles or not," said Moeldoko.

He explained that the construction of the Batam-Bintan bridge is included in the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2020-2024. It is estimated that the construction of this bridge could be a little late until 2025.

"But we force 2024 to finish everything," he said.

According to him, the presence of the Batam-Bjntan bridge can be a lever for new economic growth areas. So that the entire development process should run well.

"Riau Islands' Government support is extraordinary, the availability of land for other aspects supports this program," he said.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Riau Islands, Ansar Ahmad, who also accompanied Moeldoko, said that he had explained all the obligations and commitments of the Regional Government (Pemda).

"For example, the provision of land, and several surveys that we are obliged to carry out," said Ansar.

Soon, there will also be a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).

In the future, the construction of this bridge will use the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme.

"We have conveyed everything to Pak Moeldoko, that this bridge will provide a multiplayer effect so that later it can be passed on to the president," he said.

Ansar said the construction of the Batam-Bintan Bridge could start immediately in early 2022. Currently, the Detail Engineering Design (DED) is in its final stage after several reviews.
