Karimun, Batamnews - Karimun Regent Aunur Rafiq tested positive for Covid-19. That was conveyed by the Head of the Karimun Health Service, Rachmadi, who is also a spokesperson for the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling Covid-19 in Karimun Regency, Sunday (2/5/2021).

"The information is correct. The regent was confirmed positively after close contact with his family," he said.

On Saturday (1/5/2021) yesterday, Aunur Rafiq underwent independent isolation. It was reported that one of the families, namely his son-in-law, had a fever and lost his sense of smell (anosmia) last week and underwent a swab. The results came out on Friday 30/4/2021 positive.

Rafiq was also asked to undergo quarantine and a swab test on Friday (30/4/2021). Until finally tested positive on Sunday (2/5/2021).

Rachmadi said that on April 20, a son-in-law of Regent Rafiq had a fever. When the antigen rapid test was carried out, the whole family was tested negative at that time.

"The fever is getting better even though it has not been cured. However, last Tuesday experienced anosmia, then a swab was carried out. The results came out on April 29 positive," explained Rachmadi.

All the regent's families who had close contact were also subjected to a PCR test. Several people reported positive on April 30th.

Regent Aunur Rafiq himself conducted a swab test on April 30. The results came out on May 2, from the BTKL he and several families were declared positive.
