Tanjungpinang - Former Governor of Riau Islands, Nurdin Basirun tested positive for Covid-19 while serving a sentence of a corruption case, at Sukamiskin Prison, Bandung, West Java.

According to Nurdin Basirun's lawyer, Andi Muhammad Asrun, his client is currently undergoing isolation according to the health protocol in the prison.

"Pak Nurdin Basirun is indeed exposed to Covid-19. However, his condition is overall in a good and stable condition," said Andi Asrun, Tuesday (16/2/2021).

The management of Nurdin in Covid-19 isolation, according to Andi Asrun, was completely under the control and supervision of the Sukamiskin Prison.

Andi said that Sukamiskin Prison had also implemented strict health protocol. However, if one of the inmates is exposed, the spread will be faster because it is in one environment.

"God willing, Pak Nurdin will going through it and he will recover again. Please pray, I hope he will get well soon," he hoped.
