A Corpse of Foreigner in Aston Apartment Batam Room Is Confirmed Positive for COVID-19

Batam - The corpse of an Australian foreign citizen who was found dead in the Aston Apartments turned out to be positive for Covid-19. The corpse of Andrew Waterson (59) is currently at the Bhayangkara Riau Island Police Hospital.

The Head of Lubuk Baja Police Commissioner Arya Tessa Brahmana, through the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Lubuk Baja Police Iptu Harris Baltasar Nasution, confirmed this.

"The results of the swab were declared that the patient is Covid-positive," Harris said, Tuesday (9/2/2021)

Meanwhile, information obtained by Batamnews informed that the corpse has now been cremated.

From the information obtained by Batamnews, Waterson was found dead on Thursday (4/2/2021). However, this information has only been confirmed at this time.

When confirmed, the representative of Aston Hotel management named Fitri said that the handling of the incident had been fully handed over to the police.

"I cannot give a statement, because we have submitted everything to the Lubuk Baja Police," said Fitri, Monday (8/2/2021).
