Tanjungpinang - Riau Islands Provincial Government in the 2021 APBD (Regional Budget) has allocated IDR 10 billion for land acquisition. This is to support the construction of the Batam-Bintan (Babin) Bridge.

Head of the Riau Islands Province Spatial Planning and Land Affairs (PUPR) Public Works Agency, Abu Bakar, said that in 2021 Riau Islands government will allocate a budget for discussing land for the construction of the Babin Bridge amounting to IDR 10 billion.

"Currently, land acquisition has begun to take place. Of course, it will be carried out in stages both in Batam and Bintan," said Abu Bakar, Sunday (7/2/2021).

The land to be acquired for the construction of the Babin bridge is approximately 30 hectares. His party has coordinated with the National Land Agency (BPN).

The BPN itself continued Abu, was difficult to record and the land to be acquired is the land owned by the community.

"Overall, the land for the Babin Bridge location has been recorded and there is no problem because the land belongs to the community. There is no protected forest, catchment area, and other lands," he said.

The land that will be acquired is in Batam and Bintan Regency. However, to be sure on how much area in each of these locations, we still waits for a complete report from the team.

"The process for this land acquisition is long, but overall there are no obstacles," said Abu again.
