14 Crew of Sabuk Nusantara 83 Ship Are Positive for Covid

Tanjungpinang - A total of 14 crew of Sabuk Nusantara (SN) 83 ship who were currently anchoring around the waters of the Tanjungpinang Sri Bintan Pura (SBP) Port have been confirmed positive for Covid-19.

Head of Riau Islands Provincial Health Office, Mochammad Bisri, confirmed the case of the SN 83 crews who tested positive for Covid-19 and 14 crew members were still stuck on the ship.

"The swab examination to the SN 83 ship crew was carried out on October 21st and the results of the swab came out on October 22nd yesterday. Furthermore, it was stated that 14 crew were positive for Covid-19," Bisri said, Friday (23/10/2020) night.

Bisri added, currently the 14 crew members of the SN 83 ship were still detained and getting help on the ship.

The plan was for the crew to be taken to Galang special hospital but according to the information, Galang special hospital was full due to many patients from Karimun and Batam.

"Currently, the team is still looking for an isolation place for the crew of this ship. Will they be placed on the ship first or will they be brought ashore and look for another place to quarantine this crew," Bisri explained.
