A Sand Mine in Bintan Is Raided by Police, the Workers Foresee This and Escape

Bintan - The joint team from the Bintan Police and the Gunung Kijang Police raided illegal sand mines in two locations. Unfortunately, only mining equipment was confiscated, while the miners ran away first.

Kasatreskrim Bintan Police, AKP Agus Hasanuddin said the target of illegal mining operations in Gunung Kijang and Toapaya districts. This operation involved 17 police personnel.

"The operation was carried out on Friday (14/8/2020) starting at 11.00 WIB," said Agus, Saturday (15/8/2020).

The first location visited was Jalan Wakatobi, Kawal Darat Village, Kawal Village, Gunung Kijang District. There, an excavator was found clearing land and a dong feng machine.

Then the team moved towards Jalan Tirta Madu, South Toapaya Village, Toapaya District. There was no mining activity here but there was a ready-made dong feng machine on site.

"At the time of checking, a Jiang Dong brand of dong feng machine was found. While the person was not there and the findings of the machine were taken to the Police Unit of the Bintan Police to be secured. The police line was carried out for the excavator because the dynamo and the battery were not there," he said.

It was suspected that this activity was first discovered by the perpetrators and the workers of this illegal mine.
