Batam - Batam Covid-19 Acceleration Management Team released one re-infected patient on Monday (6/7/2020). The results were based on a swab test conducted by the Prodia Batam laboratory analyst team.

The case of reinfection is a man with the initials DH (46) and is a resident of the Tiban Cooperative Housing, Sekupang. He works at a state-owned bank in Pekanbaru, Riau.

DH was previously listed as Patient 181 in Batam and was declared recovered on 20 June. After confirmed Covid positive, he is now recorded as Patient 241.

After declared recovered, DH had to undergo independent isolation at home for 14 days until the 4th of July 2020.

But before the self-isolation period ended, on June 30 this patient went to the Budi Kemuliaan Hospital to do a self-examination of the throat swab.

"The swab inspection is for requirements to go to Pekanbaru so that he can return to work," said Rudi.

But the results of a throat swab examination conducted by the Prodia Batam Laboratory laboratory were received today, stated that DH was Covid-19 positive.

It should be noted that while undergoing independent isolation at home, the person concerned has never previously carried out activities outside the home. Except only doing sports and sunbathing around his yard.

"Currently the patient is in preparation for isolation treatment at Galang RSKI to return to undergo treatment," he said.

With this DH case, 3 reinfection cases were recorded in Batam. Those who were previously cured of Covid later were confirmed positive again.
