Tour de Bintan 2020 is Canceled
Bintan - The 2020 Tour de Bintan (TDB) planned by the Bintan Regency Government on 27-29 March is finally canceled.
Even though all preparations have been carried out starting from registration, road repair, procurement of goods, lodging and even various cheap packages offered in the event
The Regent of Bintan, Apri Sujadi said that the TDB 2020 had to be canceled this month. This was done as a step to save residents in this area from the Corona Virus outbreak (Covid-19).
"Health problems are a priority. Instead of having a bad impact so it is better to cancel it for a while or postpone its implementation until an unspecified time limit," Apri said, Friday (3/13/2020).
This world-class bicycle racing event has become an annual agenda in Bintan Regency. Even the events that entered the Top 100 National Event Calendar and UCI Event Calendar as one of the best quality Gran Gondo World Series events in the world have been held 10 times.
TDB is planned to be held for 3 days starting from the 175 Km Time Trial at Plaza Lagoi Bay, Friday (3/27/2020). Then Saturday (3/28/2020) there was a 146 Km Gran Fondo Classic and 85 Km Gran Fondo Challenge at the Simpang Lagoi Bus Terminal. Finally, Gran Fondo Century 108 Km and Gran Fondo Discovery 55 Km at Bintan Lagoon Resort (BLR), Sunday (3/29/2020).
Even based on the latest records, athletes and foreign tourists who will compete in TDB 2020 through the entrance of Singapore and Malaysia have reached 854 people.
