Children Aged 6-11 Years in Riau Islands Will Be Vaccinated in Corona 2022
Tanjungpinang, Batamnews - The government has launched a Covid-19 vaccination plan for children aged 6 to 11 years in 2022.
Deputy Chairperson of the Covid-19 Task Force for the Riau Islands Province (Kepri), Tjetjep Yudiana said, related to the discourse, the Riau Islands Provincial Government has also stated its preparation.
"God willing, in 2022 the central government has announced that it will carry out Covid-19 vaccinations for children aged 6-11 years. We hope that Riau Islands can become one of the pioneer areas for implementing Covid-19 vaccinations for these children," he said, Monday (15/11/2021).
This is continued by Tjetjep considering that one of the conditions for implementing the Covid-19 vaccination for children aged 6 to 11 years is that the achievement of Covid-19 vaccination for the elderly reaches 60 percent.
"Alhamdulillah, in Riau Islands we have reached more than 70 percent, so we believe Riau Islands can become an area that carries out Covid-19 vaccinations for children aged 6 to 11 next year," he said.
For the Covid-19 vaccination for children aged 6 to 11 years, they will also use the Sinovac branded Covid-19 vaccine. Given that the vaccine has a milder effect than other Covid-19 vaccines.
"And of course the Covid-19 vaccination for children aged 6 to 11 years will be carried out accompanied by their respective parents," concluded Tjetjep.
