Batam to Receive Additional 1,540 Phase II Covid-19 Vaccine Vials

Batam - The Batam Government received an additional 1,540 multi-dose vial (MDV) of the Covid-19 vaccine for the second phase of vaccination from the Riau Islands Provincial Government (Kepri).

According to the Head of Batam Health Service (Dinkes), Didi Kusmarjadi, the vaccine will arrive in Batam on March 5, 2021.

"One vial is for 10 doses," said Didi, Monday (1/3/2021).

Didi said the vaccines given would be stored in the Pharmacy Installation Building owned by the Batam Health Office. In this second stage, Didi mentioned the target of the Covid-19 vaccine, namely public service workers.

"The target of the second phase of the Covid-19 vaccine is 7,272 people," he said.

For the third stage, Didi said that the vaccine will arrive at the end of March. However, regarding the number of vaccines obtained by the Batam Government, Didi could not mention it.

"Later in accordance with the target percentage," he said.

He explained that this vaccine allocation can be used to fulfill the shortage of vaccines in the first phase of administration, by providing usage reports based on clarification of targets to the center.

"For the vaccination of the elderly group, 2 doses are given with an interval of 28 days," he said.
