Riau Islands Targets Covid-19 Vaccination for Health Workers Completed in February

Tanjungpinang - The Riau Islands Provincial Government is targeting Covid-19 vaccination to 16 thousand health workers (health workers) to be completed in February 2021.

Head of the Riau Islands Provincial Health Office Mochammad Bisri said after health workers, the next target of Covid-19 vaccination is public service officers.

"Including law enforcement officers and TNI / Polri which we are targeting starting in March," said Bisri in Tanjungpinang City, Monday (8/2/2021).

Bisri added, until now, Covid-19 vaccination for health workers is still ongoing. Furthermore, in March the Riau Islands Province received about 130 thousand doses of vaccine again.

"It is planned that we will get around 130 thousand vials of doses. Later it will be intended for public service officers, TNI / Polri. For the elderly, it is different again," he said.

Meanwhile, Chief Executive of the Riau Islands Covid-19 Handling Task Force, TS Arif Fadillah, said vaccinations for health workers had been implemented since mid-January 2021. Until now, vaccination is still ongoing.

About 16 thousand health workers in Riau Islands get vaccinated, and it is expected that this will be completed this month.
