Schools in Bintan Will Be Closed Again If A Positive Corona Case is Found

The Head of the Bintan Education Office, Tamsir.

Bintan - The Bintan Education Office (Disdik) is collaborating with the Bintan Health Service (Dinkes) to evaluate the implementation of face-to-face learning in 29 schools. This evaluation is carried out regularly to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The Head of the Bintan Education Office, Tamsir, said that he had allowed 29 schools to carry out face-to-face learning. Among them are 20 Elementary Schools and 9 Junior High Schools located in the coastal area of Bintan.

"In coastal areas, there is a very low risk of spreading Covid-19. So face-to-face learning is allowed, but we will routinely evaluate the implementation of this learning," said Tamsir, yesterday.

If in the evaluation process there is a positive confirmation case of Covid-19 in the education unit, the Bintan Education Office will immediately close the face-to-face learning activity.

This was done to anticipate so that the virus would not spread to others. Both educators and students.

"If someone is positive Covid-19, we are forced to stop and close the face-to-face study until it is declared safe again," he explained.

There are still many schools located on the same land that carry out learning online. Especially for areas based on the risk mapping of Covid-19, it is still and continues to increase.

However, there are several schools that carry out face-to-face learning and they are still mandatory to comply with the health protocol. This is only for the Junior High levels.

"There are also teachers who provide tutoring to students at school. However, it is done alternately and of course according to the program," concluded Tamsir.
