Vice Mayor of Batam: Residents Who Refuse Covid Vaccination Could Get Sanctions

Batam - Deputy Mayor of Batam, Amsakar Achmad appealed to the public to want to undergo the Covid-19 vaccination. According to him, the vaccine given has undergone clinical trials.

For the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination in Batam, it is scheduled to be held on January 15, 2021.

"It's been a clinical trial. I think we have to accept it for the good of all of us, ”said Amsakar, when picking up the Covid-19 vaccine at ASDP Punggur Port, Wednesday (13/1/2021).

Regarding those who refuse to undergo Covid-19 vaccination, Amsakar said that based on Law number 6 of 2018 concerning quarantine, further provisions regarding sanctions for refusing to be vaccinated are regulated.

"Of course there are provisions, according to the quarantine law, there are sanctions given," he said.

Even so, he hopes the Batam people will not refuse to be vaccinated. On that occasion, he asked that there will be no longer counterproductive in society.

"No more discussion A and discussion B again. After all, this vaccine is okay," he said.

Meanwhile, health workers are the priority recipients of the Covid-19 vaccine in this first stage.

Head of Batam Health Service (Dinkes), Didi Kusmarjadi, said that currently, his party is conducting a screening process to check the health of each health worker who receives the Covid-19 vaccine.

"We are currently in the process of screening. We have not received the results," said Didi.
