Tanjungpinang - The Education Office claims that almost all high school/vocational high school level Riau Islands Province are ready to carry out face-to-face learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Riau Islands Province Education Office (Disdik) M Dali ahead of the start of the even semester of the 2019/2020 academic year on January 4, 2021.

"As an illustration, all schools in all zones are sure to conduct face-to-face learning in the new school year. Almost all schools have submitted applications to the Education Office," said Dali, Monday (28/12/2020).

So far, his party has verified the application requirements for face-to-face learning from schools.

"God willing, on the 30th, it will be completed. But to this day, from those who have submitted their applications, we have also issued permits," he explained.

To guarantee a sense of security and comfort to parents, students, and teachers, the Riau Island's Disdik has proposed to the Riau Islands Covid-19 Handling Task Force to carry out rapid test checks to 7,400 teachers in Riau Islands.

"The Task Force yesterday approved the proposal. Now we are just waiting for the time when the Task Force will carry out the test," he said.

This face-to-face learning is in accordance with the direction of the central government which has given full authority to local governments to determine the granting of face-to-face learning permits in schools.
