Batam - At least 17 prospective passengers have been tested positive for Covid-19 after undergoing a rapid antigen test at Hang Nadim Airport, Batam, Riau Islands.

Dozens of prospective passengers failed to fly to their destination since the implementation of the mandatory antigen rapid test on Tuesday and Wednesday (22-23 / 12/2020).

Acting Head of BUBU Hang Nadim Batam, Benny Syahroni, revealed that 433 potential passengers took the rapid antigen test last Tuesday.

"Of all that, 4 were confirmed positively," said Benny to Batamnews, Thursday (24/12/2020).

A day later, 359 potential passengers took the rapid antigen.

"On that Wednesday, the number confirmed positive increased to 13. So in total, there are 17 people, "he said.

Benny explained for prospective passengers who were confirmed positive. His party has carried out the steps according to the applicable protocol such as passengers being educated and to get accurate results it is recommended to undergo a PCR swab test.

"Passengers are directed to the airlines for ticket refunds, and we report passenger data to the Batam TGC Team and the Airport TGC Team for the next step," said Benny.
