Batam - Batam Customs Officers arrested a man, a prospective passenger of Lion Air at Batam's Hang Nadim Airport on Wednesday (11/25/2020) morning.

It is known that the man was Muchlis. He is a fugitive of Customs and Excise in a narcotics case.

When arrested, Muchlis planned to leave using the Lion Air airline on the Batam-Surabaya-Lombok route.

Director of Hang Nadim Airport Business Entity (BUBU) and Information and Communication Technology (TIK) of Batam, Suwarso, confirmed that Muchlis was included in the Customs and Excise People Search List (DPO).

"Yes, right, he is the Customs DPO," said Suwarso, Thursday (26/11/2020) morning.

From Muchlis, Customs and Excise officers obtained 289 grams of methamphetamine evidence.

"Currently, the perpetrator has been brought to the Batam Customs office," said Suwarso.

This case is still under investigation by the customs agency.
