Batam - Electricity management in Batam, Riau Islands, has been managed independently. BP Batam provided a signal that opens opportunities for investors who want to invest in electricity management.

The head of BP Batam, HM Rudi, said that his party would give permission to investors who want to manage electric power in Batam.

Rudi's statement was delivered in response to the Chairman of the Singapore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Michael Gautama.

He said Batam is still attractive to investors but infrastructure must be improved especially ports.

"I have spoken to 4 ministers until today I have not given up hope. I am sure that Batu Ampar port can be repaired as soon as possible," said Michael.

Then, the very expensive logistics cost in Batam was also an obstacle. Not only that, according to Michael, electricity cost in Batam was also expensive.

He said he wanted Batam and Singapore to also be able to restore their former glory because currently, Shenzhen's economy is growing very well. In fact, initially, Shenzhen studied in Batam and Singapore.

Even so, there is still hope for Batam, because through him, there will be 4 foreign investors investing in Batam after Covid-19 is over.
