Batam - Patients confirmed positive Covid-19 in Batam increased by 5 cases. A total of 10 cases occurred in Batam. The Mayor of Batam, Rudi announced the development of the case, Thursday (4/4/2020).

Patient 06 in Batam is a boy (13), who is also a student, live in Batam Center.

"The patient is the closest contact with his biological mother who is patient 04," said Rudi in his press release.

When the mother was being treated, the patient lived alone at home. And then his grandfather came to accompany him.

Furthermore, at that time, the patient had begun to have a health problem. Like feeling fever, vomiting and light-coughing. "The medical team of the local puskesmas examined and given the patient medicine," said Rudi.

Then on March 30, 2020, the patient mother who was also positive Covid-19 died. After that because it was a close contact with his mother, the teenager was immediately identified as Monitoring Person (ODP).

"Then it was immediately placed in the flat (Rusunawa Tanjunguncang) for observation and monitoring of his health condition," he said.

"During the monitoring process of officers at the Tanjung Uncang, the condition has seemed to improve," said Rudi.

Swab test results were only received today, and have shown that the patient was confirmed positive. Furthermore, the patient was sent to the isolation room of the Hospital of the Batam Business Entity (RSBP). "Until now the condition is stable," he said.
