Covid-19 Specialty Hospital in Galang Island, Batam Has Been Opened

Batam - Covid-19 specialty hospital in Galang Island, Batam City, Riau Islands Province will begin to operate today. Although they are still waiting for a week to be able to accommodate patients. There are three maintenance clusters at this location.

Spokesperson for the Task Force for the Covid-19 Handling of Riau Islands Province, Tjetjep Yudiana said the three clusters will soon be operated.

"The three clusters namely People Without Symptoms (OTG) Clusters, Patients Under Supervision (PDP) and ICU are negative for Covid-19 positive patients," said Tjetjep, Sunday (5/4/2020).

Tjetjep explained that there were 260 rooms in the OTG cluster, 100 rooms in the PDP cluster, and 20 ICU rooms for Covid-19 positive patients.

Later on, it will be clear that Tjetjep will have around 50 medical and paramedical personnel volunteered. In addition there will be an extra support from the Ministry of Health that will send around 100 medical and paramedical personnel.

For non-medical personnel needed at this hospital have been recruited since a few weeks ago. "The availability of non-medical personnel is the responsibility of the regional government of Riau Islands Provincial Government and Government of Batam," he explained.

Tjetjep added, Galang Hospital's capacity is planned to reach one thousand rooms. But the development is tailored to the needs.

Galang Infection Special Hospital Operations will begin operating on April 6, 2020 today, but will not necessarily be able to directly receive patients.

The reason is that the hospital management is still making adjustments, including the function test of various medical equipment, and the HR assignment test in each section prepared.
