Batam, Batamnews.co.id - Panji Gumilang, the leader of Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, has announced the purchase of 145 hectares of land in Batam, Kepulauan Riau Province (Kepri). Panji Gumilang announced this while standing on a hill in the middle of the purchased land.

The location is estimated to be on Galang Island, Batam. Panji Gumilang shared his vision and future plans while traversing the newly acquired land. He bought the land from a person named Ahua. "The original owner (of the land) is Ahua," said Panji Gumilang.

Recently, the name of Panji Gumilang, the leader of Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, has been widely mentioned. Panji Gumilang was implicated in several issues, including alleged blasphemy, embezzlement of School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds, and several other cases. However, his status remains a witness until now.

"This land has been purchased in three payment stages, 30-30-40. With a strategic position, we can look in all directions, east, west, and south - all heading to the sea," said Panji Gumilang.

Panji Gumilang's statement was made in a long video received by Batamnews.co.id. It is estimated that the video was taken in 2020.

Panji revealed that the location is only six kilometers from the main road leading to the open sea, an advantageous position for large ship routes from Jakarta.

The land, surrounded by a large asphalt main road, offers direct access to the sea in the west and east. Gumilang also noted that the land extends to the west and cuts through the main road. He also plans to apply for forestry permits to expand the land.

"We plan to use about 109 hectares of this land to extend forward directly to the sea," added Panji Gumilang. In the future, he plans to utilize the land for various activities, including agriculture, plantations, and shipyard construction.

Within a 20 km radius from the zero point, Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School has freed up 20 hectares of land from the original owner, intended for farming and plantations. The leader of Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School also plans to build a shipyard at the location.

"We plan to receive ships coming from Java, and we also plan to build boats for fishermen here. We are preparing the permits to possibly build a shipyard here," revealed Panji Gumilang.

From this location, the distance to Batam City is about 53 km, and the plan is to make a road to the sea by dredging about 1 meter high and 6-8 meters wide.

"We have enough land stock to make terracing and in a short time, maybe next year 2024, we will start making roads and preparing the shipyard that we will buy," said Panji Gumilang.

The purchase of this land and the plans explained by Panji Gumilang demonstrate the great ambition of Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School in its regional development and its contribution to the local community. This development will certainly be very interesting to follow in the future.
