Batam, Batamnews - Batam Mayor, Muhammad Rudi, plans to take over the responsibility of building the main road in Sungai Beduk District, which is a provincial road. Rudi announced this during a Ramadan Safari in Sungai Beduk District, responding to numerous complaints from local residents who felt neglected by the Batam City Government (Pemko) due to the government's failure to address the damaged road.

According to regulations, the Sungai Beduk road is a provincial road and is the responsibility of the Kepulauan Riau Provincial Government (Pemprov). Pemko Batam would violate regulations if it allocated funds for the construction of the road.

Rudi ensures that his administration will not remain idle and will try to accommodate the community's demands. Therefore, Rudi plans to take over the responsibility for building the main road in Sungai Beduk.

If it cannot be budgeted through the Batam City budget, then the Batam Development Agency (BP) budget will be used.

"Hopefully, in 2024, we can start the construction. We will also raise the height of the road," said Rudi.

The Ramadan Safari event in Sungai Beduk District was held in two locations, namely at the Baitul Jannah Mosque Fasum Utama Buana Garden and continued at the Nur Illahi Mosque Kav. Mangsang Lestari RW 12.
