Batam, Batamnews - The Kepulauan Riau Regional Province Intelligence Officer, Bambang Panji Prianggodo, has withdrawn his report against Batam Human Rights Activist, Chrisactus Paschalis Saturnus, also known as Romo Paschal.

The report was withdrawn on Friday (17/3/2023), based on the wishes of the concerned party.

Bambang Panji's lawyers, Ade Darmawan and Lechumanan, revealed that the conflict between Bambang and Romo Paschal is considered over.

"There is something joyous that may become our hope regarding the conflict between Romo Paschal and our client. Here, we announce that the police report that we filed to the Kepri Police was officially withdrawn by our client on Friday," said Ade on Saturday (18/3/2023) night.

According to him, there is no reason for them to intervene or not follow the orders of Bambang Panji as their client to withdraw the report.

Lechumanan explained the reason for the withdrawal of the report. He said that before the report was withdrawn, Bambang Panji prayed tahajud, asking for guidance on the issue.

"Before the withdrawal, Mr. Bambang prayed tahajud, whether to continue or stop the report. From the prayer, Mr. Bambang leaned towards withdrawing the report. Then, I was instructed to withdraw it and inform the media colleagues at the same time," he said.

Regarding the possibility of peace between Bambang and Romo Paschal, he said that his client's inner self had made peace. The conflict is considered to have ended.

"Mr. Bambang's inner self has made peace. Even in the holy month of Ramadan. As a religious person, he does not want to be in conflict. Maybe it's more towards that," said Lechumanan.

Then, if talking about the legal construction, there is no such thing as pressure. He stated that the withdrawal of the report was entirely based on Bambang Panji's wishes. "This is purely Bambang's desire," he said.

According to Lechumanan, the longer the problem persists, the more turmoil it will cause in the community. "Maybe that's the thinking of religious people," he said.

He added that Bambang Panji did not rule out the possibility of meeting Romo Paschal after the report was withdrawn.

"We will definitely have a meeting to exchange greetings and shake hands with Romo Paschal. I think Romo also does not rule it out because he is also one of the religious leaders," he concluded.
