Batam, Batamnews - The Mayor of Batam sent a letter of recommendation for the Batam city minimum wage (UMK) in 2023 to the Governor of the Riau Islands Thursday (1/12/2022). From the recommendation letter, the Batam MSE will determine by the Governor of Riau Islands.

The recommendation of the Mayor of Batam, Muhammad Rudi, for the 2023 MSE amounted to Rp 4,500,044 or an increase of Rp 314,081. This figure is obtained based on Permenaker number 18 of 2022.

From the recommendation letter from Batamnews, it is known that the 2023 MSE figure is calculated by considering the economic growth of Batam City in 2021 and the Riau Islands Province Inflation from September 2021 to September 2022.

Previously on November 29, 2022, a wage board meeting was held, but there was yet to be an agreement. Each representative proposed their own 2023 MSE.

Previously, the 2022 Batam MSE was IDR 4,186,359; with the DPK discussion some time ago, it was decided to refer to Permenaker number 18 of 2022. There was an increase of Rp 314,081 or 6.97 percent.

Governors carry out the determination of MSEs throughout Indonesia. The decision of numbers is carried out 30 days before 2023 or January 1, 2023.
