Batam, Batamnews - The Government of the Republic of Indonesia took a strategic step by passing Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation which is expected to simplify and harmonize regulations, especially business licensing, create and increase employment opportunities, and increase quality investment.

Head of BP Batam, Muhammad Rudi said, in line with the government's mandate through Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation, his party has moved to accelerate its implementation.

This step is an effort to accelerate investment and facilitate business permit services in the Free Trade Area and Free Port of Batam to accelerate economic growth and increase investment.

This was conveyed when opening the Workshop on the Task Force for Acceleration of Investment and Ease of Business License Services which was held offline and online by the Ministry of State Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia, at Radisson Golf Sukajadi Batam, Wednesday (12/8/2021).

The Job Creation Law reforms the approach in granting business permits from the previous one using a License-Based Approach to a Risk-Based Approach.

BP Batam has currently implemented a Risk-Based Approach system through the OSS-RBA (Online Single Submission Risk-Based) System.

The soft launch of the OSS-RBA system was carried out on August 4, 2021, and the official launch on August 9, 2021, was inaugurated directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo in Jakarta.

"We have implemented this in Batam, it has even been integrated electronically through the OSS-RBA system," said Rudi.

With the implementation of the OSS-RBA system, business actors can register their business online from anywhere. This is quite easy for business actors and is also expected to speed up the licensing process.

Rudi added, Batam is more special and different from other regions, because of the implementation of IBOSS (Indonesia-Batam Online Single Submission) which integrates various permits, both those in the ministry or central agency, BP Batam and the Batam Government.
