Tanjungpinang, Batamnews - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Riau Islands (Kepri), continues to urge the central government to immediately open a tourism travel bubble in the Riau Islands.

"We continue to encourage the Riau Islands travel bubble to be opened immediately because until now we are ready to receive tourist visits," said Riau Islands Governor Ansar Ahmad, Wednesday (11/24/2021).

He admitted that he would continue to communicate and coordinate with the central government so that the Riau Islands tourism travel bubble would soon be opened.

"Currently, only Jakarta has opened, so it is impossible for foreign tourists who want to go to Riau Islands to have to go all the way through Jakarta," explained Ansar.

For this reason, Ansar continued, his party continues to encourage the opening of the Riau Islands tourism travel bubble, both by preparing existing destinations and resorts and most importantly controlling the Covid-19 pandemic in Riau Islands.

"We don't want the condition of the Covid-19 pandemic that is starting to improve to explode again, this is what we are guarding, with Riau Islands zero Covid-19 cases, the central government will immediately open the Riau Islands tourism travel bubble," said Ansar.

He tried to encourage the opening of the Riau Islands tourism travel bubble after Christmas and New Year.

"Hopefully after Nataru (Christmas and New Year), the Covid-19 pandemic condition in Riau Islands will improve so that our desire to open the Riau Islands tourism travel bubble can be granted by the central government," he concluded.
