Batam, Batamnews - Green coconut water is currently in great demand by residents. The reason is that this pure nutritious drink is believed to be able to ward off Covid-19.

Sales of young coconuts have recently increased dramatically.

"Thank God, recently there have been a lot of coconut buyers," said Herman, one of the coconut traders in the Botania I Region, Batam, Tuesday (13/7/2021).

Sales have started to increase since entering the beginning of March 2021.

Usually, the green coconuts they sell are not up to 20 eggs per day. Since March, its sales have even increased to 100 items per day.

"We spend at least 100 pieces per day," said Herman.

However, recently Herman's sales have declined slightly. This is due to government regulations related to Emergency PPKM.

"So it's difficult, buyers rarely pass here because the road is blocked by officers," said Herman.
