Bintan, Batamnews - The Bintan Police Satreskrim managed to thwart the dispatch of 23 Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) or illegal Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) who were about to leave for Malaysia.

They will be infiltrated through illegal channels through the 'rat' port in Bintan Regency. Three people were arrested by the police in connection with this case. They are the ones who are directly involved in sending these illegal migrant workers.

The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bintan Police, AKP Dwihatmoko Suseno, said that the illegal migrant workers were sent to Kampung Jeruk, Tanjunguban Kota Village, North Bintan District, Tuesday (6/7/2021) at around 21.00 WIB.

"23 TKI and 3 people who are strongly suspected in the case of sending TKI were taken to the Bintan Police," said Dwihatmoko, Thursday (8/7/2021).

The prospective illegal migrant workers are residents of Lombok and Kupang. They consist of 21 men and 2 women. Meanwhile, 3 people who are suspected of having ties to these migrant workers are listed as residents of Bintan Regency.
