Batam, Batamnews - The Batam Government has accelerated the progress of vaccination to reach 70% until the end of July 2021. Currently, mass vaccinations continue to be carried out for the public to students.

"This July, all segments achieved 70 percent, it could be the 3rd week of July," said Deputy Mayor of Batam, Amsakar Achmad, Monday (5/7/2021).

He hopes that herd immunity can be formed so that the transmission of Covid in Batam can be suppressed as much as possible.

"If many people are vaccinated, a strong immune group will be formed in the community," he said.

Vaccination is also targeting students today. The Task Force team prepared Sinovac vaccine for students.

"We have to take care. There are also groups of vulnerable children," he said.

According to Amsakar, vaccines in addition to providing body resistance can also protect against being easily exposed to viruses.

"Don't let them become a connector or connect with other people's viruses. We hope that the chain of transmission is broken," said Amsakar.
