Over a month, GeNose Officers in Hang Nadim Fasifies 80 Documents

Batam, Batamnews - Two GeNose officers at Batam's Hang Nadim Airport, Riau Islands, have become suspects for falsifying passenger documents.

The suspects had the initials AP and JN. Both are employees of PT Mitra Prima Mandiri, the vendor that handles the GeNose test at the airport.

The Head of the Hang Nadim Airport Regional Police, AKP Cut Putri Amelia, revealed that the mode of the two suspects was to issue false certificates with negative Covid-19 results for passengers.

The target is passengers who are in a hurry and do not have time to undergo the GeNose test at the airport.

"To search for prospective passengers, the perpetrators of the AP, then handed over to the perpetrators JN who served as the printer of the document," said Cut Putri.

The fake certificate is priced at Rp. 50.000,-. Passengers do not need to take the GeNose test, as a condition of travel.

From the investigation, it is known that the two suspects have falsified 80 documents for prospective passengers in the past month.
